Divine Coffee Cake

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 pint sour cream
Recipe

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add slowly to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Beat until just mixed.
  4. Pour half of batter into a greased and lightly floured 10-inch tube pan. Sprinkle half of topping (see below) over the batter in the pan. Pour remaining batter into the pan and sprinkle remaining topping over the top of the pan.
  5. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool pan on wire rack for 1⁄4 hour. Lift center tube with cake on it out of pan. Cool completely, remove cake. Topping Combine 2 tablespoons of butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1⁄4 cup of chopped walnuts.

Topping

Combine 2 tablespoons of butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
